Can you imagine what it would be like to put your kids in the car and drive them over to drop them off at an orphanage?
As I write this we just saw the sun go down here in Africa, Jessie and I are getting ready to celebrate the end of 2013 with our kids, we have a whole bunch of snacks and fun food that we bought at the local grocery store and all four of our kids promise that tomorrow they are going to stay up until midnight. I can’t imagine what life would be like with out this beautiful family of mine, each of our children is an incredible blessing from God, and I thank Him every day for the front row seat that I get here watching while they grow up into the amazing people that He has called them to be. At the same time we are blessed to look at Bring Love In and all of the beautiful things that God has done in this ministry, it’s an incredible journey of redemption for the kids who were once orphans but now have families, and also for the 150 families who are now getting the resources and support they need to stay together.
God is good.
As I look at my own kids here, and then think of the stories of the children who we work with, I often stop to think of what a terror it would be to have t0 take my children over to an orphanage and drop them off because I did not have enough money to feed them. Gosh, my little Everly, or Luella, or Ruth, or Nickoli, the thought of handing them over and signing the documents. I can’t hold back the tears as I think of what that would be like. For nearly all of the 54 children who are in our forever families, their story is one that a simple lending hand would have changed forever. Kids who’s mothers died from a simple curable illness, or who’s fathers committed awful crimes out of desperation, and who’s mothers then couldn’t handle the load they were left to carry once the father was taken off to jail. We can stop this! We have what it takes to come and and be the change for these people. Poverty is curable, and today is the time we did something about it.
Tomorrow is the last day of the year, and also the last chance for you to give a tax deductible gift towards Bring Love In to help with place children in families, and keep those together that are on the bring of falling apart.
We need you! Please give something today, and please please please share this with everyone you know, tell them how simple and easy it is to make a life changing difference for someone.
If you have not seen it already please watch this video that Jon Morton put together for us recently, it is the story of poverty, and the terrible effects that it has on families. It is about the hope that together we are able to bring. These people don’t need stuff, or for their lives to look like ours, they need our love, and a little tiny helping hand during a dark season in their lives.
