Road

I was digging in my old files and found something that I wrote several years ago when Bring Love In was just starting to form.  I found it incredibly relevant to where we are at today, and inspiring to see how far we have come from just the idea bouncing around in the heads of our team here in Ethiopia to where we are at today with all these families who we have helped to form.    Take a look.

We believe that God is calling us to more and we refuse to be shy about it, we will not be a part of a culture that says and does not do. It is with this conviction that we stand up today and make a declaration that we am a part of a revolution that chooses the narrow road. Knowing full well that it is the promised harder path, but the right one none the less, the road we are called to.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14

We are Narrow Road Revolutionaries and this is what we believe.

We believe it its time for all of us to rise up to create a movement of people who are bent on being the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth. We want to be the ones who are willing help widows and orphans, homeless and the helpless in their distress, choosing to stand from where we are and help regardless of the cost to us. Striving to become unaware of our own sacrifices and needs, but keenly attuned to those who we are called to serve.

We do this, not because of what it does for us, simply instead because this is what we are called to as followers of Him. Fighting always to keep our focus on Him and not on any one person or a plan.

We stand today to answer a call, to fill a need, we choose to give until it hurts and then give some more. We believe in a God who loves each and every one in this world of His the same, we believe that the child who was left to sleep on a sidewalk outside the church means as much to God as the man standing at the altar preaching God’s word, just the same the man who drives to work and loads trucks for a living. We are rising to take that child in, to give him whatever we have to give, rising to love everyone, not just the least, but also the neighbor who we see each day.

We choose to be a part of the few who find the narrow road that leads to life.

Are you ready to be a narrow road revolutionary? Are you ready to heed the call, to spur a movement, not about ourselves, but about what we can do when we band together to do good for others?

If you are like me, with a fire burning inside you to do something, to help, to be used by God, then the question that you need to ask Him today is this.

Lord, don’t leave me where I am. Bring me with you.

He will.

He always does when we ask.

Lets not be a part of those who are feverishly curled up on a couch, coddling ailments, lets rise up, stand tall for the clear calling Jesus left us with here on this earth and take care of those who he has left for us to tend to.

Are you ready to call yourself a Narrow Road Revolutionary?   To give up striving for you and start really giving for Him?
