There are some moments-beautiful shining breaks in time and space when so many things happen all at once that I cannot wait to sit down here and let you know about all that is happening. Today is one of those beautiful days, as I sit here on the couch with my kids spread around me in the living room coloring, I can hardly contain the giddiness I feel about good progress and God’s provision.

I feel silly really, sitting here, smiling at the computer screen as I write, like a goofy weirdo who is sharing a joke with only himself. But, I know that you will be just as excited as I am about all this, and so I will endure the strange looks I am getting from my kids and keep writing.

The first thing I want to share with you is a prayer request for a mother here in Ethiopia who has found herself in a terrible situation, one that we might be able to help with.

Mulu is a mother of two children, she lives here in Addis Ababa and has a small job that does not pay enough money for her to live on. Her children are 9 and 12 years old, a boy and a girl. Mulu is a great mother, and wonderful person who truly wants to do what is best for her family. Many years ago her husband was taken from the picture, we are not entirely sure what happened, if he passed away or just left, but he has been gone for quite some time now. Since then Mulu has gone it alone, and battled the economic horrors that this country throws at women in her situation.

Today we found out that Mulu is in the middle of making a big life changing decision. Mulu is contemptating if she will move to South Africa and take a new higher paying job, or stay here and continue to watch her family struggle for their daily needs. The problem is, if she does go to South Africa to look for work, she will have to leave her two kids behind with a cousin here in Ethiopia.
Later today we are going to offer Mulu a job as a house mother in our first Bring Love In forever family, this is really exciting because it would allow her to stay here in Ethiopia with her two kids. Please pray that this works out for Mulu. We have known her personally for over a year and feel confident in her abilities, she would make a wonderful house mother, and a perfect person to start the first Bring Love In home. Pray with us that she has not already committed to this move and that we are able to keep her and her children together. I will keep you posted as we find out more about her situation.

What makes me so happy about this, is that this story is all to common, many mothers in Ethiopia find themselves in the same situation, having to make the same horrible choice, and what Bring Love In gives is not only hope for orphans but for mothers as well.  Can you imagine what it would be like to have to make this choice?  To choose between feeding your kids or being with them?

The next thing that I want to share with you is..

Today we get keys to the first of the Bring Love In homes!!! We found a landlord who is willing to work with us (Despite the increased taxes due to our status as official government sanctioned organization). We finally get to start working on the first home. I cannot even begin to tell you how exciting this is for us! We still have a few more steps before we are able to bring kids in, but it will be very good for us to focus on getting this place cleaned up and ready for the first family before we get the green light. Next week we will get some much needed help from the Ethiopia Smile Dentist team that Moody and Emily Alexander are bringing to town, they will be working with us to get the home painted and ready for the new forever family.

I will post pictures of the new home soon.

Lastly, as I sit here typing, I have on this really cool Bring Love In cuff that we just got a big bag full of. They are locally made Leather Cuff Bracelets and I am very happy with how they turned out. We had a local leather craftsman design and make them for us so that we can sell them here on the website. We had 300 of them made for the first run, and we should have them back in the States and ready to ship out to you in the next few weeks. As you can see on the top bar of this site we are working on a store, its still not even near done, but in the next few days I am heading over to the Sheraton Hotel to use their faster internet and get that finished up.

Let me see if I can get a picture of the Leather Cuff here… They are pretty stinking cool, and I hope you can see them.

Seems like the picture turned out good!

Ok, thats it for now.

Thanks for reading, we are thankful that you are here and on this journey with us.
